Abraham Lincoln Celebration

Lincoln Exhibit at OHare

The Chicago Department of Aviation is joining in the national year-long celebration commemorating the bicentennial of Abraham Lincoln's birth by exhibiting a half-size replica of the Lincoln Memorial at O'Hare International Airport. The statue's creator, Chicago sculptor Fran Volz, and Lincoln impersonator Michael Krebs visited O'Hare on March 13 to greet passengers, pose for photos and answer questions. The statue measures 10 ½ feet tall by 9 feet wide and is carved from an environmentally friendly and recyclable material called Expanded Polystyrene.
